Water to be treated in aquaculture

In aquaculture, aquaculture and aquaculture wastewater are treated. Especially for indoor farming. Pretreatment of aquaculture water is essential. With the progress of the breeding process, indoor aquaculture needs to replace the water in time, and the generated wastewater needs to be treated first and then discharged, otherwise it will cause organic pollution and endanger the natural environment.

1. Extract raw water according to the living habits of the cultured organisms.

Different cultured organisms have different aquatic environments and different aquatic environment requirements. A simple understanding is that marine organisms need to extract seawater as raw water, while freshwater organisms must extract fresh water such as river water and lake water as raw water.


2 Raw water filtration

The raw water from nature must first be filtered step by step.

The first step of filtration is to filter particulate matter such as sediment. The fully automatic drum microfiltration machine independently developed by Qlozone is designed for this purpose.

After the solid particles are filtered, the second step of filtration is used to filter out suspended pollutants such as macromolecular proteins. The protein separators can be used at this stage.

The protein separator can produce rich and delicate bubbles. When these bubbles rise from the bottom, they absorb the suspended pollutants under the tension, and finally the foam is collected and discharged. Details can be found on the product page.

After the suspended impurities such as macromolecular proteins are filtered out, the next step is to eliminate harmful substances such as ammonia nitrogen, nitrous acid, nitrate, and hydrogen sulfide in the water. This level is the responsibility of the biofilter.

The biofilters combine both biological and mechanical filtration. It is internally filled with bio-fillers to remove harmful substances such as ammonia and nitrogen through the active degradation of microorganisms.


3 sterilization

The raw water after filtration has initially met the requirements for use, but in order to avoid the formation of microbial contamination, it is necessary to carry out sterilization. Ultraviolet sterilization and ozone sterilization are very environmentally friendly and pollution-free disinfection methods, and have little impact on water quality.

The ozone machine and UV tube produced by QLOZONE can realize ozone sterilization and ultraviolet sterilization respectively. The ozone generator can pass ozone into the protein separator and sterilize it while filtering. When an air source ozone generator is used, a small amount of nitrogen oxides is easily generated due to a low oxygen concentration, and nitrate is formed in the water. These impurities will be sent to the biofilter for biological action removal.

The raw water passing through the biofilter may be mixed with the microorganisms used for purification. In order to ensure the water quality, it is necessary to carry out the killing treatment. It is recommended to use UV tube irradiation and lay on the pipeline to kill. At this point, the raw water treatment is completed.

The treatment process of the aquaculture wastewater is basically the same as the raw water treatment. The only difference is that the aquaculture wastewater can retain certain harmful substances. That is to say, the treatment requirements of the aquaculture wastewater are lower than that of the raw water, and the specific treatment needs to be treated according to the requirements of the local discharge wastewater.

However, for indoor recirculating aquaculture, the wastewater is recycled. Therefore, the wastewater treatment at this time is the same as the raw water treatment process, and the requirements are also high.
